Our Policies
Last updated: June 2026
1. Korvy's Role
Korvy is a property service coordination service based in Montreal. Korvy acts as an intermediary between customers and independent service providers to facilitate the coordination of service requests for residential or commercial properties.
Korvy is not a general contractor. Korvy does not directly perform work unless expressly stated in a service confirmation. Korvy does not supervise, employ, or insure service providers, and does not act as an employer, principal, insurer, or representative of providers.
By submitting a request through Korvy, you agree to these policies. Korvy reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or redirect any request at its discretion — including requests that are out of scope, unsafe, unlawful, or require specialized expertise that is not available.
These policies may be updated at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting on our website.
2. Provider Status
Service providers who fulfill requests through Korvy are independent contractors or independent businesses. They are not employees, agents, partners, or representatives of Korvy.
Providers control how they perform their work, subject to customer requirements and applicable law. Korvy does not dictate work methods, schedules, or means used by providers.
Each provider is responsible for their own organization, tools, equipment, staff, subcontractors, taxes, permits, licences, insurance, health and safety practices, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
3. Provider Responsibilities
Providers are responsible for the quality and compliance of their work, including work performed by their staff or subcontractors.
Providers must hold and maintain all licences, certifications, permits, and insurance required by law for the services they offer. They are responsible for ensuring their work complies with applicable building codes, municipal regulations, and all other legal requirements.
In the event of a dispute, damage, incident, or non-compliance related to a provider's work, responsibility rests with the provider, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
4. Injury & Workplace Safety
Korvy is not the employer of providers and does not provide CNESST coverage, workers' compensation, or employment benefits to providers or their staff.
Each provider is responsible for their own workplace health and safety obligations, applicable CNESST contributions, liability and accident insurance, and similar obligations toward their own subcontractors or employees.
If a provider, employee, subcontractor, or third party is injured during a service, responsibility for that situation rests with the relevant provider and applicable insurance or legal processes, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Korvy is not liable for injuries arising from work performed by independent providers.
5. Property Damage & Service Issues
Providers are responsible for damage to your property or belongings caused by their work, negligence, tools, employees, or subcontractors, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Korvy may help coordinate communication when an issue arises, but Korvy is not automatically responsible for damage caused by an independent provider.
If an issue occurs, report it promptly to Korvy at hello@usekorvy.com with photos, a description of the damage, the provider's name if known, and a timeline of events.
Before any service begins, customers are responsible for securing valuables, fragile items, and pets, and for restricting access to sensitive areas of the property.
6. Licensed & Regulated Services
Some work (including plumbing, electrical, gas, and certain construction or renovation work) may require specific permits, licences, qualifications, or insurance under Quebec law and municipal regulations.
Providers are responsible for confirming and maintaining all required qualifications, licences, and insurance for the services they offer.
Customers should not request unlawful, non-compliant, or unsafe work. Korvy may refuse, cancel, or redirect any request that appears unsafe, unlawful, out of scope, or requiring regulated expertise that is not available.
7. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete information when submitting a request, including full address, contact details, access instructions, the nature of the work requested, and any known hazards.
Customers must have the legal right and authority to request work on the property (as an owner, tenant with permission, or authorized representative).
Customers are responsible for providing safe and lawful access to the property for the provider. This includes disclosing the presence of pets, tenants, restricted access areas, hazardous materials, dangerous conditions, or special building rules.
Inaccurate or incomplete information may result in delays, additional costs, or cancellation of the service.
8. Payment & Quotes
No payment is required when submitting a request. Submitting a service request is free.
After your service and provider are confirmed, you will receive a quote by email that includes:
- The provider's service cost
- The Korvy coordination fee (currently 10% of the service cost)
- The final total
Payment is requested after you approve the quote. Accepted payment methods will be communicated at the time of confirmation.
Payment to the provider is made after service completion and confirmation, according to Korvy's current process.
9. Cancellation, Refunds & Rescheduling
You may request cancellation or rescheduling of a service by contacting us at hello@usekorvy.com.
Any cancellation or refund outcome will be assessed considering the timing of the cancellation, costs already incurred by the provider, work already performed, and your applicable rights under Quebec consumer protection law.
Cancellation fees may apply if cancellation occurs after a provider has been confirmed and assigned. These fees may vary depending on the circumstances.
Nothing in these policies is intended to limit customers' non-waivable rights under applicable Quebec law, including the Consumer Protection Act.
10. Privacy & Personal Information
Korvy collects personal information necessary to process service requests and provider applications. This may include name, email, phone number, address, service details, provider business information (insurance, licences, service areas), and related communications.
Your information may be shared with providers only to the extent necessary to coordinate your service. Korvy does not sell your personal information to third parties.
For V1 operations, Korvy uses internal tools including Google Sheets, email notifications, and other operational management tools. These tools are subject to their own privacy policies.
Korvy aims to collect only the information necessary to provide the service. You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information by contacting hello@usekorvy.com.
Korvy is committed to complying with Quebec's Law 25 (Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector) and other applicable privacy legislation. These privacy practices may be updated from time to time.
11. Disputes & Incident Process
If a dispute, damage, service issue, or incident involving a provider occurs, contact Korvy as soon as possible at hello@usekorvy.com.
Please include in your message: your request details, relevant photos, a description of the issue, the provider's name if known, and a timeline of events.
Korvy may review the situation and help coordinate next steps. The provider remains responsible for issues related to their work, damage, injury, or non-compliance, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
12. Emergencies
Korvy is not an emergency service. Korvy cannot guarantee an immediate response for dangerous situations.
For emergencies, immediate danger, active flooding, fire, electrical hazards, injury, crime, or any other urgent situation requiring an immediate response, contact immediately:
